Please spread the word, Wirksworth Swimming Pool has been nominated for a Onefamily community award worth £5000, but we need your help.
The OneFamily Foundation, funds community projects with awards of £5,000.
We’re on a shortlist for one of ten awards. If successful, we plan to use the money for a new sand filter to replace the current old one with a more commercial filter that can cope with an increasing workload.
To receive an award, we need votes before the end of June 2015. If we are one of the ten projects with the most votes, we get an award.
Wirksworth Swimming Pool is a vital part of the community offering a welcoming, warm, shallow pool with wonderful staff who provide life skills to children, people with disabilities, non-swimmers, families and older people. Replacing the sand filter will remove a major threat to the future security of this cherished community facility.
